What does the custom home process look like?

From first sketch to final key, here are the stages of a custom build — so you know what's coming and when.

A custom home is a long project with a lot of moving parts. Knowing the stages in advance makes the whole thing far less daunting — and helps you spot a builder who has the process under control.

1. Consultation & feasibility

A free, no-obligation conversation. We learn how you want to live, walk your lot, and tell you honestly what's possible within your budget.

2. Design & engineering

Your vision becomes a buildable, engineered set of drawings — with the structural thinking worked out early, so what you approve is what we can actually deliver.

3. Approvals & permits

We manage zoning, any minor variance, and the building permit on your behalf — so you're not navigating the process alone.

4. Pre-construction

Final budget, contract, schedule, and selections are locked in before anyone breaks ground. Decisions made now keep the build on track later.

5. Construction

Excavation and foundation, framing, mechanical and electrical rough-ins, then the finishing stretch — built to one standard by one team, with regular updates throughout.

6. Inspections & finishing

Quality checks through the build and required inspections at each stage, into the final detailing where craftsmanship shows.

7. Handover & warranty

We walk you through the finished home, make sure every detail is right, and hand you the keys — backed by Ontario's new home warranty.

One team, start to finish. The same people who begin your project finish it — no hand-offs, no surprises.
